Lovely to have my son pop in to make sure everything is in order earlier in the season!
Whilst you will note Sky my son doesn’t have a Bee suit on like James in the background we are always very careful when we have visitors.
We would as Bee Keepers never approach a hive directly or inspect a hive without a Bee suit on or let visitors close by if opening a hive.
Like all of us even Holy Bees can have a bad day and not want visitors!
You should never stand directly in front of a hive even with a Bee suit on as it stresses them as it blocks their flight path.
In addition never approach a hive without the Bee Keeper being present or under expert guidance.
Generally honey bees are very gentle but will protect their hive with their lives.
